BHC Hockey Director Carter Lee and the entire BHC Board are proud to announce the coaching staff for the upcoming season.  You won't find a better group of coaches anywhere in the state of New Jersey!

Coaching Director

Carter Lee - As a former BHC mite & squirt, Coach Carter returns as the BHC Coaching Director and to coach our midget teams.  He formerly played for both CBA & Canterbury Prep for high school.  He went on to play D1 hockey for both Northeastern University & Lake Superior State University as well as professionally for the Trenton Devils & Johnstown Chiefs.  He has successfully brought two teams to make appearances at USA Hockey's National Championships.  

Midget 18U

Tom Brower – Coach Tom is a former BHC mite to midget player.  He played for Brick High School winning two Public School Championships (1999 & 2002) and one Gordon Cup (1999).  He has coached all levels for the BHC from mites to midgets.  Coach Tom was awarded the Jim Blackburn Coach of the Year in 2023.

Chris Rudo – Coach Chris was a member of the Hudson Catholic High School team winning two Handchen Cups (1988 & 1989).  He has coached many levels over the years for the BHC.  Coach Chris was awarded the Jim Blackburn Coach of the Year in 2020.

Midget 16U

Brian Barnfield – Played BHC Mite to Midget, Brick high school, Gunnery Prep, Utica College NCAA Div.3. Brian has coached Mite A,B & mite development & squirts 2 yrs. for BHC. Brian was part of 4 NJ state championship teams at BHS & Hockey Night in Boston Champions Team Mid-Atlantic.

Bantam 14U

Chris Blackburn – He’s been a coach in BHC for 4 yrs. starting w/ LTP, mites 2yrs. & squirts last season. Chris coaches multiple HS sports, Lacrosse, Ice Hockey & Football at BHS.

Peewees 12U

Tom Brower – Coach Tom is a former BHC mite to midget player.  He played for Brick High School winning two Public School Championships (1999 & 2002) and one Gordon Cup (1999).  He has coached all levels for the BHC from mites to midgets.  Coach Tom was awarded the Jim Blackburn Coach of the Year in 2023.

Todd HankelCoach Todd is a BHC alumni.  He played for Monsignor Donovan High School.  He was also an assistant & goalie coach for St. Rose/Donovan Catholic high schools.  He has coached both squirt and peewee levels for the club.

Kyle Weise – Coach Kyle is a BHC mite to midget alumni.  He also played for Brick High School winning two state championships (1996 & 1997).  He went on to play D3 for Western New England University.  Coach Kyle spent eleven years coaching for Jackson Liberty High School as both an assistant and head coach.  He has coached all levels within the club at various times.

Jeremy Deichman – Coach Jeremy is both a former BHC in addition to Brick High School hockey alumni.  While playing for high school, his team won three Public School Championships (1996, 1997 & 1998) as well as on overall State Championship (1997).  He went on to play D2 hockey at Palmer College of Chiropractic.  He has experience coaching both mite and squirt levels.

Squirts 10U

James Murphy – Coach Murphy is a former BHC squirt to midget player as well as Brick High School hockey alumni. He played in the 2007 USA Hockey Nationals.  He continued on to play D2 college hockey at Neumann University.  He has coached all levels of club hockey in addition to being an assistant coach and now head coach of the Brick High School Hockey team.

Kyle Weise – Coach Kyle is a BHC mite to midget alumni.  He also played for Brick High School winning two state championships (1996 & 1997).  He went on to play D3 for Western New England University.  Coach Kyle spent eleven years coaching for Jackson Liberty High School as both an assistant and head coach.  He has coached all levels within the club at various times.

Nick Ianniello – Coach Nick is a former BHC alumni who played mite through midget hockey.  While playing for Brick High School, his team won 3 Public School Championships (1996, 1997 & 1998) and one overall State Championship in 1997.  He went on to play D3 hockey for Southern New Hampshire University.  He has coached both mite and squirt levels.

Joe Rossi Coach Joe is a former Brick Memorial High School hockey player.  He has been involved with the Learn to Play program as well as coaching both mite and squirt levels.

Jason Thieme – Coach Jay is a former BHC alumni who went on to play high school hockey for Brick Memorial.  He has coaching experience at both the mite and squirt levels for the club.

Mites 8U

James Murphy – Coach Murphy is a former BHC squirt to midget player as well as Brick High School hockey alumni. He played in the 2007 USA Hockey Nationals.  He continued on to play D2 college hockey at Neumann University.  He has coached all levels of club hockey in addition to being an assistant coach and now head coach of the Brick High School Hockey team.

Justin Douma – Coach Justin was a BHC player from mites to bantams.  He played for the Brick Memorial High School Hockey team.  He has been a dedicated volunteer coaching mites through peewees over the last couple of seasons.

Rich Kramer – Coach Rich was a Bantam player for the BHC and went on to play for Brick High School.  During his time with the BTHS hockey team, they won both two state championships and the Gordon Cup.  He joins the BHC as a mite coach.
